We all miss him, it was a terrible lost not only for the
metal, but for our lives. In a style where most of time
lyrics talk about bad things, Chuck´s songs where answers

Today, 12/16, I was shocked and deeply saddened by the news
I just read. I offer my condolences to his family and friends.
I became a fan of Death and Chuck when Spiritual Healing
was released and was blown away by the style and craftsmanship
of his songs and his solos especially. Chuck was a HUGE
influence on my playing and thinking. He was very insightful
as a lyricist and I often agreed and enjoyed what he had
to say. I met him briefly on the Individual Thought Patterns
tour, when he played at the Roxy Music Hall in Huntington,
Long Island. He seemed to be a genuine person. He was a
great person, a great guitarist, and a great thinker. Chuck
will be deeply missed but, NEVER forgotten. Thank you, Chuck,
for your music, insight and Voice from the Soul. We will
continue the Perenial Quest for you ,Metalbrother! You will
continually be in my prayers. Rest in peace, Thank you and

I remember getting into Death after I had heard of the death-metal
scene in south florida with it's many but different-sounding
bands. Their heaviness was apparent early on but they soon
matured without actually alienating anyone.I could relate
to Chuck's lyrics so much on albums like "Human". And yet
I won't forget the lyrics to a song like "Pull the Plug"...."Life
ends so fast/so take your chance and make it last." My sincerest
and most heartfelt condolences go to his close family and
friends. My thanks go out to Chuck now more than ever, as
his soul has left the confinements of human illusion. Rest

there ever was a day the Music died, today might be close
to it. In Death, A Metal legend passes from this life into
the unknown, and not without grace, immortal now legendary
status, accomplishment, and great fanbase. Chuck Schuldiner
was a great support to the Metal Community and a living
legend for the past 15 years, his work never unnoticed since
the grand days of "Scream Bloody Gore" and better days of
later work. In this Fragile art of existence, we must now
mourn the loss of a Man whose very nature was Metal, whose
mind was one of ours, and whose skill and musicianship was
devastatingly apocalyptic, absolutely pioneering, and of
influence greater then he must have known. A fan I am of
the history of Death and the man Chuck, an amazing discography
that truly grew larger with each release and talent that
expanded each release. Impossible to fold or sell-out to
mainstream masses, we now have the definitive Death collection,
sadly complete now but without epitaph as the Music will
live forever at the center of the blood-flow and beat. It's
a rare thing, I remember seeing Death on the last tour and
shaking Chuck's hand. He was a small guy, but so commanding
on stage-and Godly on guitar. His skill in playing guitar
and writing compositions was astounding! He also had this
amazing gift for finding talent of the highest Metal form
and melding them together accurately for what will now slip
into a discography of Immortality and a standard by which
to continue to follow. Chuck was a Man who changed the face
of Metal twice. First by releasing "Scream Bloody Gore"
and basically putting the Florida Death Metal scene on the
map. He changed the face of Metal again as releases went
on becoming increasingly complex. He was definitely an influence
on many modern Technical Metal bands and countless guitarists
claim Chuck as an inspiration and goal. During Death shows,
he littered the crowd with speeches about support for Metal

heard today of Chuck Schuldiner's passing. I'm sorry to
hear that he's lost his battle with cancer. I had a chance
to meet him three years ago at an in store appearance at
rock n roll plus on south street,philadelphia pa on nov
15th,1998 before their show at the trocadero. Hammerfall
and Death were all there signing for the fans and i had
the chance to met one of my musical heros. I remember when
i heard spiritual healing for the first time,how much i
had loved the band and music. So meeting chuck that day
was such an honour. He was a good person and great musician.
He will sadly be missed. He will always be my metal brother!

It
is with extreme shock that I have come to know of Chuck's
death. Despite the rumours about all the lawsuits between
Chuck and I during Death's career, I will still always value
the good times we had as metallic brothers. Chuck was always
an individual with vision - with determination. We were
young and full of energy and we had the world to conquor.
It is so ironic that at the time Chuck became ill with cancer,
I was thousands of miles away fighting kidney failure. No
matter what anyone says, I shall always keep my memories
of Chuck high on my mental mantle. Rock on with the flow
